The purpose of this site is to maximize the quality of your life. So I’m always interested in studies aiming to increase productivity while reducing waste.
This week, I came across a few articles on Gothenburg, Sweden and an efficiency experiment they’re launching. They will be decreasing the workday from the customary eight (8) hours to six (6) hours for some, not all, civil servants. After a year, they’ll study the effectiveness of both groups and decide whether to continue, and spread, the 6 hour workday.
I’m confident that if the right infrastructure is in place then this experiment will succeed. Maybe in a few years, we will all embrace a shorter more productive workday.
Hopefully the 6 hour workday will allow people to spend more time enjoying this view of the Gothenburg Harbor!
